موسيقي مكون من مؤلفات وضعت خصيصا لآلات موسيقية بعينها كالعود أو البزق.
هذه
المقطوعات تضع الآلة الموسيقية في قلب عملية الإبداع وبخلاف المعهود والمألوف
تخاطب المستمع مباشرةً دون وساطة الكلمة المغناة ودلالاتها اللغوية, فهي:
موسيقى تتحدث عن نفسها.
تحاول
هذه الموسيقى أن تستكشف أوسع أطياف التعبير الكامن والممكن في الآلة الموسيقية
الشرقية, ومع غياب الكلمة يجد الموسيقي في آلته بوصلةًً بديلةً تعينه على
الإبحار في عمق آخر من الشعور الإنساني.

هذه المقطوعات خلال أعوام الانتفاضة الأخيرة كمنفذ وحيد من العبثية التي تهدد
كيانك, وكرد وحيد أتقنه مجيبا على سؤال يومي يطرح على كل عربي وشرقي: من أنت؟

A music concert consisting of pure instrumental pieces for Oud and Buzuq.
These pieces were composed in
a manner that suits the musical idiom of these specific instruments.
As opposed to the tradition
of Arabic music where vocal music has been the main idiom of expression,
these pieces place the Instrument at the heart of the creative process. This
music aims to reveal its own essence to the listener with no verbal
mediation. Hence, it is music that unfolds its own rhetoric.
These compositions try to
explore the widest spectrum of expression achievable by these instruments.
The absence of lyrics draws the composer to search for an alternative
compass thus to navigate his route through uncharted waters.
Mazameer was composed during
the years of the last Intifada, as the only escape road from the absurdity
that endangers sanity, and as the only answer I can give to the recurring
question that haunts each and every Arab today: “ Who are you?”

John Williams :
John Williams can be regarded as a foremost ambassador of the guitar and
has toured the world playing both solo and with orchestra.
As well as solo recital projects, John Williams' musical activities have
included the groups SKY, John Williams and Friends, Attacca, The
National Youth Jazz Orchestra with Paul Hart, Paco Pena and the Chilean
group Inti Illimani. His trio WEB (with John Etheridge and Patrick
Bebey) calls on their widely diverse backgrounds for concerts inspired
by the music of West Africa. John Williams has also formed a duo with
Richard Harvey, who plays a great variety of instruments with John
Williams's guitar. Their "World Tour" programme includes music from
China, S.E. Asia, Africa, Madagascar, Latin America, Ireland, Medieval
Europe - and also G.F. Handel.
Recently, Sony Classical released his solo CD entitled "El Diablo
Suelto". This is a collection of Venezuelan music by composers including
Figueredo, Sojo, Lauro, Fernandez and Gutierrez. John Williams has
toured the UK and abroad with this repertoire. His latest CD, "The
Ultimate Guitar Collection" has now been released by Sony Classical.
Khaled Jubran:
Khaled Jubran was born in Galilee in 1961.After studying and teaching at
Jerusalem's Rubin Academy, in 1994 he founded and headed the Arabic
music department of the Palestinian National Conservatory of Music in
Ramallah as well as being a member of its Oriental Music Ensemble. In
2000, he founded the Urmawi Centre for Mashriq Music, named after the
Abbassid musician. An independent institution, the centre brings
together Palestinian musicians, teachers and students, preserving
existing or potential practitioners' knowledge of the musical heritage,
producing contemporary music and putting on performances throughout the
country.
"I would say that we have a bit of an instrumental bias, which I suppose
reflects my own orientation. We study all kinds of music, but if it
comes down to a choice between the saxophone and the 'ud, I'd always
insist that the student should go for the latter. Because I feel one
shouldn't blindly follow the West, even though a familiarity with the
Western tradition will obviously make one's engagement with the Mashriq
heritage all the more firm and vital."...........
"An awareness of the political circumstances of Palestine is always with
you, he says; "if you are born there, that means you are born with it.
But not until the age of 13 or 14 do you begin to experience the
difficulties it creates for yourself. Let me just give you a very simple
example: within the last two years I was shot at four times in one week.
If you leave Jerusalem for Ramallah, with the purpose of giving an 'ud
lesson 20km away from where you live, this can be the most perilous
journey you have made in your life. Everywhere there is this sense of
impending danger, and of the possibility that whatever you have started,
you will not have a chance to complete, if you are to preserve your

Khaled Jubran now performs regularly as an international solo artist in
many countries as well as in Palestine. His new CD 'Mazamir' (Psalms)
will be released in February 2005 and at the concert he will be
introducing 6 of these recent compositions that combine the classical
Arab style with the contemporary.

عادت
"دردشات موسيقية" إلى قاعة فندق القدس (جيروسليم
هوتيل) يوم الأربعاء 12 كانون الثاني، 2005.
"دردشات" هي أُمسيات موسيقية أسبوعية يلتقي فيها عدد كبير من الموسيقيين
والمستمعين وتتمحور حول فكرة المداخلات الموسيقية الحرة والمرتجلة، لغاية الآن
(الأسبوع الواحد والثلاثون لعودتها) تميزت جميع أمسيات "دردشات" بمشاركة عالية
ومتحمسة من قبل الموسيقيين وجمهور المستمعين.
وقد ساهم في العزف حتى الآن
كل من الموسيقيين: نزار روحانا، وسيم عودة، شيرلي
سمارت، ميشيل روحانا، هاني أسعد، وائل أبو سلعوم، حسام الجعبة، لؤاب حمود، تامر أبو غزالة، لؤي خليفة،
نديم خوري، هدى عصفور وخالد جبران.
الأُرموي بادر إلى خلق "دردشات" والتي تهدف إلى خلق جو
تعارفي، تعاوني، وودي بين الموسيقيين وطلاب الموسيقى على اختلاف مستوياتهم
وتوجهاتهم الفنية بعيداً عن صالات العرض الرسمية وعن التنافس المهني التجاري.
أقام الأُرموي حول "دردشات" شبكة موسيقيين تحوي 28 موسيقياً
حتى الآن، يقوم أحد الموسيقيين بإفتتاح كل أُمسية من "دردشات" بالعزف
بشكل منفرد لمدة عشرين دقيقة،
ومن ثم يشارك باقي الموسيقيين المتواجدين في العزف والإرتجالات والغناء كل حسب رغبته.
يطمح
الأُرموي إلى ترسيخ هذا النشاط وتثبيته بحيث تصبح "دردشات" عادة أسبوعية
مستمرة في القدس، ويأمل في أن يتزايد إقبال الموسيقيين والمستمعين مما سيؤدي
إلى تنشيط الحالة الثقافية والفنية في البلد ويعطي منبراً مناسباً للموسيقيين
ويساعد على استقطاب واكتشاف المواهب الجديدة ودعمها.
